Well, the new year is here. It seems to have brought with it a lot of hope. At least, I think so. I do not know why, but I can feel it.
I haven’t felt this excited about the start of a New Year in recent times. I think there is a lot that’s meant to happen. To be honest, I think I deserve a Treat this year; after how last year turned out.
I hope it turns out to be a good one for my family as well. After all, that’s all that you need right.. peace within your home.
So, here’s hoping this new year brings calm, peace and tranquillity to all of us.. Happy New Year fellow bloggers. Here’s to a year filled with a whole lot of blogging, reading and simply cherishing life.
“Life is an exam where the syllabus is unknown and the question papers are not set”
I came across this passage written by an author today and I could not help but think to myself how true it was. Just the other day, I met one of my closest friend – Snehal, and what she told me only strengthened my thoughts about how scary and unpredictable life is.
The Glass is either half full or half empty. I have always thought that this is one of the perfect ways to prove how the same thing can be have different views. It applies to everything – a situation perhaps; or somebody you know; an unusual occurrence, or even something as small as a single word!
When you think of words, it’s more about how they’re used that changes the whole meaning right! Now, let’s look at a simple one – Expect for example; can be used in a positive way or to convey something, or, perhaps it can have a neutral stance as well.
Positive usage would be joyous of getting exactly what you expected; or being told that one’s performance has exceeded expectations and such. The optimists usually expect much good to happen. How it works out for them only they know, right!
Funny how when the usage is different, all this positivity around it can vanish in a jiffy! Didn’t you hate it when your teachers in that self – righteous tone would give you the I did not expect this from you statement. Verbally, or otherwise. Expectations can at times even play the villain in relationships. They can create divides anywhere at anytime. So much for positivity; you can almost feel the Dark Force here! Phew!
Then, there is the neutral usage – which swings nowhere. It’s just a plain statement made to grab attention or play at one’s curiosity – like when you see ‘Expect the unexpected’ somewhere. That kind of thing. I usually become mildly curious when I see this one anywhere!
So, there you have it. One word and so much variation around it. Quite a fascinating one alright! I’m off to have lunch now..and I’m expecting it to be a good one 😉

This is the story of a boy….
Who befriended a clucking chicken,
And thought it was a toy.
Running and jumping and clucking they would do;
With both of them around, it was all hullabaloo.
Then one day the chicken went missing;
The little boy did a lot of searching.
But even after a lot of looking around,
The chicken was nowhere to be found.
When he went back home, his little heart dropped;
For there was a Fried chicken on the table top!
He cried and cried all day long;
Alas! His new friend was gone.
This is so unfair he thought
That chicken should never have been bought!
Their time had come.
The stage was set; the audience was waiting in anticipation of the next act. Onstage, she looked at no one in particular; fearing that her face would give away the pure terror she felt at that moment. All the hard work and practice came down to this. As she stood there, she could barely feel her limbs. Funnily, it seemed to have frozen. Then, they played the track. It was show-time!
When I hear the word “Choice” I can’t help thinking that it is synonymous or correlated to “Decisions”. Most of the time you have to decide based on choice you have/ get right – or sometimes you may not have a choice at all!
If you break it down and think about it, look at all the choices you have from morning to-night.. What to have for breakfast; what to wear to work; oh before that, whether you want to go to work all ;p.. and so on and so forth.
So do our choices shape who we are? I’ve always thought so. At various points of life, we are faced with choices..there are times when we have to decide what to do, or what we think needs to be done. There are times when the choices we have may not be easy at all; it is a matter of seconds, what we decide to do in that one minute that could take our life down a totally different path than where it was supposed to go.
